The Peacock Dress is an iconic, historic gown made by the prestigious House of Worth for Lady Mary Curzon, Vicereine of India, in 1902.
The original gown, tarnished, damaged, heavily altered, but still beautiful, is carefully preserved in a glass museum case. By recreating it, we can not only see it as it would have been in its dazzling, brand-new glory, but we can use it, see it move and fully appreciate the magnificence of its achievement for the first time in a century.
